In some parts of the USA, and of course the world, acupuncture is a
daily part of many people's lives. However not all of those people are
in decision making positions at insurance companies.
This list is from Acupuncture.com. It represents an on-going survey
and service that Acupuncture.com provides to give consumers a list of
insurance companies that cover acupuncture. Ultimately, we would like
to see insurance also pay for herbal medicines. Many already cover therapeutic
massage.
If your insurance company is not listed here, remember that insurance
companies are very sensitive to your needs, especially when you express
those needs with your money. If you want more insurance companies to
cover acupuncture, just ask for their marketing department and express
your desire. They may say "no" because of lack of research,
or some other reason, but in the end, it is the marketplace that will
generate the growth of acupuncture, not the skeptics.
